Kelowna’s Top Restaurants Near the Lake
You’ve been out on the water boating, swimming, and enjoying the sights all day and have already devoured that picnic you packed. You can suddenly hear your stomach grumbling louder than the outboard motor aboard your Kelowna boat rental.
Time to eat!
Whether you savour an authentic fish taco served up with a glass of local lager, or a degustation menu paired with world-class Okanagan wine, Kelowna has it all. Several excellent Kelowna restaurants are accessible by boat or by foot, just a stone’s throw from our Kelowna downtown marina. Best of all, all of them have outdoor patios so you can soak up the sights while dining on some of the best dishes in town.
Here are 5 of our favourite restaurants near and on Okanagan lake.
1. Craft Beer Market
Located at the south-end of Bernard Avenue, just a quick stroll from our downtown marina in Kelowna, Craft Beer Market, as its name suggests, serves up a wide selection of ales, along with elevated pub food. Enjoy a fish or carnitas taco, loaded burger, or wood-fired pizza while taking in views of the Kelowna Sails and Okanagan lakefront from the large rooftop patio.
2. Cactus Club Café
Just steps away from our Kelowna marina, the Cactus Club offers waterside dining at the Kelowna Yacht Club. Featuring an enclosed patio, the Cactus Club is open for lunch, happy hour, dinner, and late-night snacks. Dine on delicacies designed by famed Canadian Iron Chef Rob Feenie, including seafood, steak, and vegetarian options. The restaurant also features signature two-course meals, with a starter and main at a special price.
3. OAK + CRU Social Kitchen and Wine Bar
A modern fine-dining eatery, Oak + Cru is on the Kelowna lakeshore at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Grand Okanagan Resort, just 10 minutes along the boardwalk from our boat dock in downtown Kelowna. The restaurant features an extensive wine menu featuring all Okanagan-based wines, and focuses on locally sourced meat, cheese, produce, and seafood. Try out their Luminescence outdoor seating experience that seats you on their heated patio in four dining “globes.” There, you can sample a carefully crafted selection of starters, mains, and desserts.
4. Okanagan Beach Club and Tiki Bar
Found at the former Okanagan Lake Resort, this new and unique dining experience is located on the west side of Okanagan Lake.Okanagan Beach Club features a licensed tiki and taco bar right on the beach, along with a dock available to visiting boaters. Those wishing a more substantial meal can visit the OCB Bistro and Patio, which offers a selection of tapas, charcuterie, salads, bowls, mains, and desserts. Make sure to designate a driver to get you back to our marina in downtown Kelowna safe and sound.
5. Frind Estate Beach Winery
North America’s first beach estate winery, Frind Estate Winery, can be found on the shores of Okanagan Lake in West Kelowna. The winery has a small restaurant-café, open for breakfast and lunch, serving up shared plates and small dishes along with soups, sandwiches, and an onsite bakery featuring delicious bread and desserts. The adjacent state-of-the-art tasting room features a picnic area and outdoor patio right on the waterfront. A planned boat dock is in the works so that visitors can step off their Kelowna boat rental and step inside this beautiful estate winery.
