The Most Scenic Lakeside Routes for Your Lake Boat Rental

Take to the water for some of the most inspiring views available on Lake Okanagan.

Stretching 135 kilometers from Vernon to Penticton, Lake Okanagan holds a lot of room for fin-tastic views. Though the beautiful Okanagan Mountain range offers plenty of opportunities to get a bird’s eye view of the landscape, we think the best way to get acquainted with the natural beauty of the land is through the water.

Boat Tours

If you’re not much of a boat driver, or simply want the luxury of being driven around, boat tours of Lake Okanagan are a wonderful choice to experience the lake, especially if you’re visiting from out of town. Immerse yourself in the Okanagan community with a private tour, chartered by experts who can take you around key landscapes like the downtown Kelowna skyline, Hot Sands Beach, and the William R Bennett Floating Bridge (one of the few of its architectural design in the whole world).

Some Kelowna tourism boat tours even offer opportunities to anchor in secluded bays to enjoy a dip in the water, view the acclaimed Okanagan wine country, or take breaks to dock for lunch at local eateries.

Captain Your Own Adventure

If you’re more the type to take an adventure by the wheel yourself, Okanagan Lake boat rentals are the way to go! Lake Okanagan borders several cities (including Vernon, Lake Country, Kelowna, West Kelowna, Peachland, Summerland, and Penticton), so there are lots of options for you to explore what the Okanagan area is all a-boat. Here at Downtown Marina, we have plenty of boating options for whatever type of adventure you have in mind.

For a southern adventure that takes you well into wine country, try boating down to the Penticton Marina. With docking spots available, you can take the time to dine in at any of the beachfront restaurants that overlook the lake, do some wine tasting, or visit some of the local parks. Local communities in Naramata and Summerland also have docks available for you to use to take advantage of swimming or picnicking near beautiful beaches and parks.

For a northern adventure that takes you towards some of the biggest Okanagan orchards, try boating up to the Blue Heron Marina in Vernon. With docking services available, it makes it easy to take a break and explore the trendy downtown area that bustles with unique shops, cafés, and restaurants. You can also take the time to visit the nearby Ellison Provincial Park, one of the best places to swim in Lake Okanagan and full of space for beach activities and admiring the view.

For an adventure a little closer to home, consider a paddleboard rental to get an immersive experience. A bit of a more affordable option, paddleboarding gives you better shoreline access to some of the ferry impressive Kelowna beaches like Tugboat Bay.

Kelowna’s Downtown Marina loves the lake life and wants its passion to be accessible to all. Located in the heart of downtown, getting on the lake has never been more convenient. Visit kelownadowntownmarina.com or stop by to rent your very own boat for an hour, a day, or a week.
