Okanagan Summer Bucket List

Don’t let the summer end without checking these activities off your bucket list!

Although the heat wave may have you fooled, summer is coming to a close. But there’s still time to check more activities off your Okanagan Summer Bucket List before you get ready to pull out your scarves and order a pumpkin-spiced latte.

Classic Kelowna Tourism

Like any tourist destination, we’re known for a few staples. Lake Okanagan is one of the biggest – and a perfect opportunity to see us at Downtown Marina for a boat or kayak rental to cool off in the waves. But on land, Kelowna boasts some popular and well-known attractions that need to be on your bucket list yesterday.

Myra Canyon Park

Myra Canyon Park is one of the most iconic Kelowna locations as an impressive railway built over 100 years ago – and is an excellent spot for a hike or bike to admire nature and learn about Kelowna’s history.

Knox Mountain Park

You also can’t talk about Kelowna parks without mentioning Knox Mountain Park in the same breath. As Kelowna’s largest natural park area, this space is excellent for hiking, golfing, and sightseeing. Plus, the top of the mountain gives an oar-inspiring view of Lake Okanagan.

Wine Tours

Wineries have exploded in Kelowna. So much so that our town name is often synonymous with a good bottle of wine. With a myriad of wine tour options to choose from, you’re sure to bring home at least one good bottle to celebrate all the activities you’re checking off your bucket list.

Want to hit a classic Kelowna tourism spot but looking for something a little more lowkey? Kelowna’s Kangaroo Farm is an outdoor hit that’s always recommended by locals to newcomers.

Celebrate Kelowna Spirit

If you’re looking for more unique Kelowna activities to tack on to your bucket list last minute, look no further than these celebrations of local business, talent, and community.

Meet Me on Bernard

Until September 5th, our street – Bernard Avenue – is open to pedestrians only. With games, classes, and concerts being held until the end of summer, Meet Me on Bernard is a really good opportunity to find a favorite downtown business (besides Downtown Marina of course).

Park’s Alive

Right on the doorstep of our boat marina, Park’s Alive is having its final concert of the season on August 26th at 6:30pm. As a closing to a celebration of local music, get a taste of pop, rock, and folk music – maybe even after a day of paddle board rentals.

Kelowna Made

Finally, this inaugural event aims to put Kelowna on the map for festival extravagance. Aiming to celebrate the Kelowna community, Kelowna Made is a one-day festival on August 27th with a pancake breakfast, sandcastle building, games, live music, street dancing, and more. With ambitious goals to turn the event into a 10-day extravaganza by 2027, you want to make sure attending the first ever Kelowna Made festival makes its way to the top of your bucket list this summer.

Tired of being on land but still itching for something to do? Let us convince you to add these water-accessible spots to your bucket list: 5 Hidden Gems of Lake Okanagan.

Kelowna’s Downtown Marina loves the lake life and wants its passion to be accessible to all. Located in the heart of downtown, getting on the lake has never been more convenient. Visit kelownadowntownmarina.com or stop by to book your boat, wakeboard, or SUP rental.
