Stroll the Waterfront Boardwalk
As the waterfront gateway to Okanagan Lake, Downtown Marina’s marine pier is located right off the boardwalk that connects Kelowna’s City and Waterfront Parks. See the famed Spirit of Sail sculpture as you wander through the north entrance of City Park. Wander down to Hot Sands Beach. Stop for ice cream while the kids cool off in the splash park. There’s even a playground with a very popular zipline.
In the opposite direction, past Stuart Park and next to the Grand Okanagan Resort is Waterfront Park with its canal system and floating stage. Visit Tugboat Bay Beach and the adjoining Rotary Marsh Park bird sanctuary to see nature up close.
Another great way to explore this area is by kayak and stand-up paddleboard. Both kayak and paddleboard rentals are available at Downtown Marina.

Visit Kelowna's Cultural District
As the cultural hub of the Okanagan Valley, Kelowna is home to several art galleries, theatres, performing arts spaces, and more. Just a stone’s throw away from Downtown Marina, in between Water and Ellis Street, is the Kelowna Cultural District. Located in a former fruit-packing area, there are a number of family-friendly venues offering exhibit performances, including:

Shop & Eat Your Way Along Bernard Avenue
Considered the main street of Downtown Kelowna, Bernard Avenue starts at the Lake Okanagan waterfront near our local boat marina. The street is laden with restaurants, cafés, and pubs offering both locally sourced and international fare. Enjoy a delicious meal at one of the sidewalk and rooftop patios and stop into one of the storefront boutiques offering everything from designer clothing to books to fun knick-knacks.
Knock Down a Few Pins and pints
Kelowna is home to several craft microbreweries, including BNA Brewing Company. Located in an old warehouse on Ellis Street, this three-level brewpub features a family-friendly bowling alley and vintage arcade games perfect for a fun night out with the kids after a day of boating.
